This happened to me just the other day. What toothpaste are you using? I brushed my teeth and noticed my tongue was bright green. The toothpaste i am using is: "Aquafresh Extreme Clean plus Whitening" and after i brushed, my tongue was green. This only happened to me once, though.
Another explenation is drugs. Not neccessarily illegal drugs, but possible perscribed or over the counter drugs aswell. (medicine)
Or, you may have "lingua villosa" (hairy tongue) which not only makes your tongue slightly hairy, but turns it a nice shade of green.
The funniest possibility is Shrek 2 cheetos. Were you eating twisted cheetos when your tongue turned green? Well they might have had an ad for Shrek 2 and said: "Limited time! Shrek 2 twisted cheetos turn your tongue Green!!"
I hope that these possibilities help! Good luck with your green tongue!

Well
The most common symptom of GERD is persistent heartburn. Heartburn is experienced as an unpleasant and painful burning sensation in the esophageal area.
If you have already been diagnosed with GERD / acid reflux you can also try out this natural remedy http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=568

Smoking marijuana can cause your tongue to turn green. When a cop suspects drug use, he always has them stick their tongue out and looks at it with a flashlight.
I saw it on an episode of "Cops"

Well barring the obvious "you ate something green" answer, I wonder if you are on new meds. Sometimes they have odd side effects.
Bottom line? If it isn't something you ate that was green colored (or blue and yellow) call your doctor.

thank you for reminding me why i never got my tongue pierced! to answer your question -- i am sensitive to nickel -- it turns my ear lobes and fingers green if i wear jewelry made with nickel. i am guessing if you have an inferior tongue jewelry with nickel and you are sensitive to nickel, you may get a green tongue.
