The strains have become tolerant to all the chemicals on the market so they are a waste. Lice hate coconut and teatree oils so here is the only thing that worked...and we had this for 3 months straight (ex never did this so each time the kids went there, they would come home with it).

Get some cheap olive oil and a 2. oz bottle of teatree oil, a roll of paper towels, Dawn dishwashing liquid and some saran wrap ( a good movie comes in handy too :-) Put the teatree oil in the olive oil and mix, then use this solution to saturate the hair. Use a strip of rolled papertowels so it doesn't get in the eyes (it will hurt badly). Then let it sit for about 2 hours. Rinse, wash and repeat with the Dawn repeatedly until the grease is gone. Now get a lice come and a white paper plates and start going thru the hair pulling out the eggs and bugs. Wash again if necessary. Get tea tree oil or coconut shampoo and a bar of teatree oil soap and wash with this, as the bugs hate, hate, hate it. The oil will help disolve the exoskeleton and suffocate the bugs, which is basically the only thing that kills them.

Take all bedding, sofas, mattresses and vacuum thoroughly and throw out the bag. Wash clothing and bedding on high heat and what can't be laundered, seal in a garbage bag for 2 weeks. 2 days later, repeat procedures and then again after a week and it should get rid of all the bugs and eggs.

Good luck.......oh, I also found that picking up a small bottle of tequila helps....the bugs don't care but it made me slightly less crazy since this takes all frigging day.

1. Liceadex™ attacks Lice HEAD-ON and begins working IMMEDIATELY. Since Liceadex™ is specially formulated to dissolve the glue that holds the nits onto the hair, there is no need for nit combs or lengthy lice removal processes.

2.Why didn't the drugstore treatments work? Because lice have become immune to the pesticide-based treatments. Think about it...the farmers have been struggling against bugs for years. They have to resort to stronger and stronger bug sprays. Why? Bugs develop resistance.

3. * Don't use a hair dryer on your child's hair after applying any of the currently available scalp treatments, because some contain flammable ingredients.
* Don't use a cream rinse or shampoo/conditioner combination before applying lice medication.
* Don't wash your child's hair for 1 to 2 days after using a medicated treatment.
* Don't use sprays or hire a pest control company to try to get rid of the lice, as they can be harmful.
* Don't use the same medication more than three times on one person. If it doesn't seem to be working, your child's doctor may recommend another medication.
* Don't use more than one head lice medication at a time.

4. Use full-fat, real mayonnaise (not salad dressing) and slather the head with it, then wrap the head in Saran wrap or a shower cap or something and leave it there for at least 3 hours. It is supposed to suffocate the lice and nits and is completely non-toxic. IF it doesn't work, they said to try it once more before going to a chemical shampoo. This is what one of our teachers used on her hair and it worked wonderfully.

Well, my cousin had lice once. They covered everything with plastic as to keep the lice out of them. After a while, the lice will die.

Hi

You can get some good nit busting shampoos. Tea tree oil is a good thing to kill them too. They sell some nit tea tree oil shampoos in drug stores.

Another way is to dye your hair. The chemicals in hair dye kill them off!!!

use apple cider vinegar and mineral oil. mix a cup half with vinegar and half with mineral oil. the vinegar smothers and kills the lice, and the mineral oil makes it easier to comb out the eggs.
