I've been doing great on my diet so far. watching what i eat for a few days and not feeling very hungry but today some friends wanted to go to the lake. well i swam and the water was so cold which for some reason made me so hungry! i had:

1 small pastry
3 hotdogs!! no condoments just white bread and a grilled hotdog
gatorade
2 pieces of zuchini bread

and some other stuff today! i'm not freaking out but will ONE cheat day mess up my whole diet for the week? i probably consumed about 2000 calories today and won't eat anymore later.

You can cheat once i a while but from what you wrote you had more than 2000 calories.
One hot dog alone has almost 400 calories in it. Pastry probablly 500 gatorade 50 cals per serving usually 150 total if you drank the whole bottle, zuchinni bread not too sure but it's still bread not to mention you said you had other stuff also!
You also swam so you had exercised before hand so you may be okay.
That's why when i'm about to cheat i say to my self that one cupcake will set me back a week of dieting not worth it.
So when you want to cheat , cheat in moderation and pick one of your favorite not so healthy but not to bad type of food.
I have chicken fiesta burritos from taco bell on my cheat day fresco style, no cheese.
Good luck you'll do fine

nothing wrong with a cheat day when the diet is being followed very strictly. cheat days are good mentally when calories are usually restricted. an excess of calories can also help to jump start a slowing fat loss program most likely this is due to an increase in the hormone leptin from periodic overfeeding.

Absolutely not. Now experts recommend that we take a cheat day. If not we will feel deprived and throw in the towel. For the next several days, get your exercise in and dring a lot of water. You will be fine. We all need that now and then. I always take a day to cheat.

That's not so much food.
A cheat day will probably slow, but not stop your weight loss completely. You have to get back on the program the next day though. Some of us let One day turn into 2 or more!

You really cheated! Too many carbs. and sat. fat's (hot dogs).. Personally.. Cheating is recommend, but not to the extent you did.. Check out Bill Phillips, Body for Life.. good book. Talks about cheating.. I eat junk, but just to get a taste..

Congratulations on doing so well on your diet!

But mostly, congrats on getting off the antidepressants. I'm glad you are becoming a happy, content girl. Enjoy treats sometimes, but mostly enjoy life! Best of luck to you, dear!

Yes but your cheat day should be something small like just the pastry. Well u don't get fat in one day either.
