I opened my freezer today and all my ice cubes were gone. Can they evaporate in the freezer? Is it preventable?

Well not exactly..when a solid turns to a gas it's called sublimation, not evaporation, but the result is the same: no ice cubes! Setting the freezer to be a little less cold should help.

yes they can
you need to make some ice and dump it into a freezer proof bowl and make some nore etc etc etcand then peeps will think you is a genious
all kidding aside the ice cubes are freezer burned when this occurs severe evaporation ovf the cubes occurs if you dont believe me put in n ice tray and just dont mess with it for 6 months the ice will decline in the tray due to freezer burn

Yes, just like when ice or snow evaporates outdoors when the temp does not get to the freezing point. The solid turns directly into a gas without going through the liquid state. The term is called sublimation.

Yes. But it is not evaporation.
It's a process called sublimation.
Frozen water can go from solid directly to water vapor. Which would be the case because if your freezer is below 32f, the ice will not get to the liquid state.

Yes, with frost free refrigerator/freezer, cold air is constantly blowing through the freezer.
Put freshly made ice cubes into a container. Or, cover the trays of ice cubes with tightly wrapped plastic wrap.

Evaporation of water occurs when you boil it and you get steam.

You forgot to fill the ice trays, is all.

yes, if you keep them in there for a long time they will eventually evaporate. Try using ice more often.
