The major religions don't all agree with each other --- how do you know which one is the right one?

If you're looking to be right, religion isn't the thing you ought to look into. Religion is for those who want to be faithful.

No_me143 would have us believe there is no right or wrong. Then she would have us believe her answer is right. Sounds contradictory to me.

I look to the east and see religious philosophies which deny the reality of matter (Buddhism, Hinduism). I look to the west and I see philosophies that would deny the existence of the spiritual realm (atheism, agnosticism, Marxism - which almost become religions).

My take is that the true religion would be somewhere in between neither denying the physical world nor the spiritual world.

One knows by discernment. By prayer. By reason also.

Any religion is just one way to explain the cosmological question of why we're here.

Of course they don't agree because each one of use sees and perceives the world different, the Chinese, The Hindus, The Japanese, The Hebrews, The Ancient Americans. They all came up with explanation of the cosmos totally different. But of course you can still find similarities within each other.

The question should be, which one is the right one for you?

Having studied and being exposed to all religions of the planet, I can tell you , they're some pretty complex ones, some pretty dumb ones (clearly being used for political purposes and dominance of the masses only)... But still I am agnostic,
I totally think that you have to create your own path. Truth is
NOT TO BE BELIEVED BUT TO BE LIVED/EXPERIENCED.
And nobody can do that for you. No Jesus, No Krishna no Buddha, you have to do it for you.

Of course studying All religions help as a REFERENCE ONLY!

You have to search for the truth yourself. If you search with all your effort you will find truth. The religion that has the most truth wins your membership. I think there is only one source of truth that we can use and that is the Bible with 66 books. I think there is only one belief system that goes by the Bible alone as their gold standard. That is a Christian denomination called the Seventh-day Adventist church. An excellent web site to start with is amazingfacts.net.

You need to try one and see if its right and if it isnt convert to another. But remember each religion is based on seeking God so be willing to seek the "God" of each religion and when you find God in a religion, you know its the right one, take it seriously, and try to believe with your whole heart. At the moment christianity is the most popular religion in the world and thought to be growing faster than any other religion. It is more popular that atheism. Most people try that first. YOu don't. What you do know is that the Eastern ones (Hinduism, Buddhism) preach a far more successful lifestyle and are veritable philosophies. So follow something similiar to that stuff and your golden.

Truly following Christ is similiar. Christ "easernized" Judaism. No more fearing an angry god. Then of course the CHristians added fear as a good way to control ppl.

So basically follow philosophy not religion. IN the east the two are the same.

Well the way I see it religion is going to be the main cause of people going to hell. Religion will not get you into Heaven, Christianity is the only way to Heaven. The meaning to Christianity is to be CHRIST-LIKE. This the only way to make it through. See the problem in this day and time and God knows we have come along way. There is good and bad in all religions, but the Lord is coming back for his true and sincere people. People who really have the Lord in their lives and really live to the best of their ability and have served him, as we should, and that is the job we were put here on this earth to do and that is to win souls for the Lord. A religion will not get it. My advice to you is to find you a church that preaches the hard core truth and rightly divides the Bible and will encourage you to seek the Holy Spirit for your own guidance.

We just don't all speak the same language or understand things the same way. So explore ideas, and find the ones that speak to you.

I read and prayed that if God had a true church on this earth to reveal it to me.

In the bible it says he who lacks knowledge ask and you shall recieve.

I found in the bible that it speaks of priesthood and athority to preach the Gospel.

There are 2 priesthoods the Melchezidic and Aronic priesthood.

There are only 2 churchs on this planet that claim to hold these priesthoods all others do not beleave in athority.

It made sense that if there was a true church that it would carry the athority that God and Jesus does.

The 2 churchs that claim this athority is the Catholic and Mormon or LDS church.;

I went to both and God revealed to me that the mormon one was true.

I hope my research has saved you some time and effort.

I know this church is true and would bet my familys life on it.
