The way I went a few years ago was to do a reverse perm. By that I mean to apply another perm solution and use a large tooth comb with a straightening effect through the hair if your hair is thick. Depending on how much damage there is already and if it has been bleached or tinted, this process can damage the hair even more as perms do just that. Use a good hot oil treatment and conditioner frequently to help offset the dryness. Your hair will grow between 1/2 to 1 inch monthly and hopefully within 6 months you will see improvement. If you can live with your permed hair for awhile eventually it will lose the curl.
You may also want to go to a good stylist and ask them if they can help as they can tell what condition your hair and scalp are in and will be able to advise you.

Try Prell Shampoo. It's probably the worst shampoo on the market for chemically treated hair. It strips hair of color, and also relaxes perms. Although it won't get rid of the perm completely. If you want it all stripped out, you'll have to use a perm chemical again, but not use perm rods. Use the perm solution, and comb out the curls or waves ... you have to go through the same processing that you do when you perm with rods. Don't leave the chemical on too long though, or you'll fry your hair ...and you will end up with extremely dried out (straw) hair.

Im sorry to hearken to that. you may not "strip" the perm out of your hair. you're able to do a million of two issues: (a million) strengthen the perm out of your hair or (2) cut back off the permed area of your hair and bypass away your organic hair. in case you bypass away the permed area of your hair in including your organic hair, then you definitely'll journey some extreme breakage yet once you narrow off the permed area then you definitely will have not something to rigidity approximately (in basic terms the certainty which you have short hair, if that bothers you.) yet to do this you have no selection yet to get expert hair care. P.S- And to dodge your hair from any further breakage dont comb it as frequently and once you do use a great toothed comb. additionally, keep your hair in a bun or a ponytail.

Let the perm grow out. Yeah it will take about 6 to 8 weeks, but at least your hair will not be damaged. Best thing about hair is it does grow.

Dump your hair in ICE COLD water. It will deactivate the chemicals. Then towel dry and brush from scalp to tip.

It would have to be done by a professional and can be risky. Would it help to have it cut very short and just let it grow out?
