There are many things that can make it appear an animal has something stuck in it's throat, like an infection, coughing, cat flu....

But they're all bad, and actually having something stuck in the throat is very bad, so take him/her to a vet ASAP.

I'd say just try to get the cat to drink some water, and see if it helps any. If it is really irritating the cat and the problem doesn't go away, you should probably call your vet just to make sure it's nothing major.

Hi, I would take a look into her throat to see if you can see anything stuck. It could be a fur ball. If the problem persists take her to the vet's straight away.

if its struggling to breath phone the animal emmergency -either the pdsa or your vet out of hours.

If it just keeps coughing its likely to be fur balls at this time of the year. Its because they mault so much due to it being nearly spring.
