Dude- I have braces and they don't hurt. I just want to tell you that people have different experiences and I'm just telling you mine. It doesn't hurt when you get them on, but it did take a long time...two hours, and that was only on the top row(maybe because he had so many other clients). When you get home, it doesn't even hurt. Just don't think that it was that easy because prepare for day 2.
Remember when I said that it didn't hurt? Well, it didn't(at least for me it didn't). If you leave your braces alone and not bite down, it doesn't hurt. It only hurts when you bite down, but that's it. The pain isn't even so terrible. It's not like a surgery or anything! And it doesn't feel like a ball hit you in the face- don't listen to them~personal experience.

Hi, I had mine on yesterday, the first thing that they do put a cheek retracter in and give you some sun glasses, they then paint your teeth with this minging stuff and wash it off in about 3 mins, they they start to paint on this black nail varnish thing on each tooth, pick the bracket up with tweezers and place it on each tooth, They then get a UV light and bond it on, They do this with each tooth once their done, they remove the cheek thing, feed the wire in and then put the tiny bands on each tooth... you feel a little pressure and then cut the wire at the back so it doesnt dig in and your all set. It doesnt take long. Make sure you have paracetamol or something and a cd you like, cause its so boring! I just kept counting the ceiling tiles! You'll be fine, im the biggest wimp i know and id cry if it hurt. Good luck, i had mine on yesterday and it doesnt hurt as bad as all these people on here say,... ignore them! :)

well, when you actually get them on, they do not hurt, but on the second day it will feel like someone hit you in the teeth with a baseball.you will have this feeling for about a week or so. during these horrible times, i recommmend you take Advil or Tylenol to ease the pain. stick to soft foods that require little to no chewing. here is a link to foods that are ok to eat.

here is a link to some colors that you can get on your braces and how they will actually look.

I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK :-)

No it does not really hurt. at first you will feel fine but after it will start achning so it would be good right after getting them on to take a advil. And do the same when you get adjusted.
