No one can do that. It's impossible to prove a negative. I can no more disprove Yahweh than you can disprove Quetzalcoatl.
I am atheist regardless. The god concept is logically impossible. That still doesn't prove a negative, but it's certainly good enough for me.

If there is a God He'll never let that happen. There will always be people who claim there is no God, but that doesn't prove anything. Atheism was the belief of the former Sowjetunion and eventually brought the country to economic ruin. No God, no moral standards, no accountability, everyone just out for their own interests.
I recently read an article on how baffled cosmologists are at the fact that the universe is expanding. Not something they expected to find.
For me personally the fact that I can have a living relationship with God, that His Holy Spirit is in my life, guiding me daily, giving me victory over sin, is proof that there is a God.

Logical people would become atheists. The problem is, most people do not behave logically.
In terms of the historical philosophical debate, this HAS already been proved... that is, as long as you allow for the logical impossibility of proving a negative. In other words, there has NEVER been ANY verifiable evidence, or even a good philosophical argument, that would even suggest that god exists.
I'm not kidding. This really is true. In ALL history, there has NEVER been a compelling argument in favor of the existence of a god or gods. EVERY such argument has been soundly defeated.
I was agnostic until I educated myself about this. Once I became aware of this, I became an atheist.

Go ahead, test your new theory. I'll wait here.
I'd even be willing to say that if you really opened your mind up, you'd discover that God is as fictional as leprechauns, vampires, unicorns, and the Tooth Fairy.
Remember when you ued to believe in Santa Claus? Then you found out the truth and were devastated for a while, until you understood the reason for the myth was to keep ignorant children from misbehaving, right?
So what if God is the same way? Except that instead of the threat of no presents one year, Christianity makes the threat of ETERNAL TORTURE to keep even reasonable adults in line.
But I don't need a God myth to be a good person, do you?

Carrie,
I think all believers have this question. We are not asked to be blindly faithul. We need to settle it in our own minds. I admire you for having the courage to admit that you question this belief.
I have examined it and allowed myself to be asked the "hard questions" and I have concluded that I do believe there is a master creator. I do believe that God is real.
If someone were to prove otherwise I would examine the evidence very carefully.

I don't see how anyone could prove or disprove God.
But as an atheist, I already don't believe, so it wouldn't change a thing for me personally.

There is a God but your perception of god changes....
a simpleton believes god will punish them with eternal hell and god made a religion that only its adherents goes to heaven,,,lol.. no matter how much they sin,,,,WTF
A more sophisticated person might believe god uses pain to encourage growth and a growing person (loving forgiving and selfless go to heaven)
it wouldnt hurt my feelings because i am growing and learning,,, and i adopt new information as it comes....
humanity is evolving in consciousness

To sound a bit cliched, God will always exist, not necessarily as a physical being but in peoples' hearts and minds. The very fact that so many people believe in God will mean he will always be around.

I'd do exactly the same thing as I'd do if someone proved that there are no dogs. I'd just give a new name to whatever it was that I called dogs before.

Nothing, as there is a God. They can't prove He doesn't exist when He does.
