He's not going to be neutered. Could you you please give me details? I want him to pee on the pads in the bathroom not outside.

Hello,
Good luck with the neutering procedure. Most dogs heal quickly from this surgery. I truly doubt there is a single successful method to completely potty train a dog (or most other animals, including human babies) in one week. Learning is a process, not an event, and it takes a different amount of time for each individual to learn each different skill. If you try to "force" the potty training into a time period which is inappropriate for your dog, you could do psychological damage, and make pottying a source of major stress for your dog. My best advice would be to discuss this issue with your vet. Also, there are numerous books and probably websites available on animal training, so those could be of use to you. Whatever method you choose, it's important to use it consistently and to praise your dog everytime he does what he needs to do in the proper place. Verbal praise, pets and pats, and edible treats all reinforce the desired behavior. Punishment does NOT stop the unwanted behavior. It only instills fear in your dog, who will not trust you to be kind and loving in the future.

Good luck,
David
