Hi I've been with them since last year this time & really like the CORE program over the pts.
I found the core hard to get used to though, but basically you eat until your full--and you have to really pay attention to what you are eating (they provide you a list of food).
And you have to pay attention to when you are hungry--and try to eat then, and not when you aren't hungry.
I have found that I've been able to maintain (my goal) weight better at this program than the pts counting program.
For me, I'd rather eat until full--where as the pts are better for other ppl. Some ppl, like the fact that 6 chips are all they can eat & that it is 5 daily food pts--where as that just ticked me off that that was all I could have.
Rather you can't eat chips on the core plan, which is easier for me to mentally deal with than eating only "6" & placing the rest away...for me the food CALLS OUT TO "EAT ME"!!
So it really depends on you--thankfully the new "weight watchers" allows you to switch over to CORE or to points until you figure out which program works for you.
I also enjoy the online program over the group support. For one reason being that the majority of ppl who go to the group support, for my group anyway, seemed to be "stuck" and used it as a social gathering & I felt like pig being weighed in for market--sad I know!
However, my friend who I was with at the time--LOVED it & said it made her accountable!!
I also needed to lose weight for sugery & have had to keep it off because I have endometriosis so I found that sitting around & listening to ppl talk about their body image annoying because FOR ME---that wasn't why I was there.
And I found the classes expensive--almost $50/month Canadian!! Online its $90 for 3 months! & there are message boards to speak to ppl.
I would suggest that if you are someone who wants to lose weight for the regular reasons that most everyone else has: Ie. looks, overall health, etc, that you seriously consider going to meetings! I believe the majority of people that are able to keep it off, go to meetings!
However, for me, for my reasons listed above, the online for me was the better way to go!
Good luck!

I really like the Weight Watchers plan. I signed up for the free 7-day trial on the website (http://www.weightwatchers.com) and I found it easy to follow. Online the point values for foods are easy to look up and there is even a recipe builder so you can input your favorite recipes and see how many points they are worth. After my trial was over I bought one of the kits on the website with the Points books and recipes. Eating out is so much easier now!
If you aren't motivated to do something on your own go to meetings or have a friend help you. I have found it to be inexpensive because I don't go over the top with food.
I have lost 15 pounds in the last 2 months and I feel really good. If you stick to your points value (based on your weight and activity level) and exercise at least 3 times a week you should have no problem losing a couple pounds a week.
Good luck!

Weight watchers is an excellent program. It teaches healthy practices. I know a lady who has been doing it fo 10 years and has lost 150 pounds!
The system works on a point system and each person has their own personalized point plan. For example you are allowed 20 points per day for food and each food has its own point value. You stick to your point values and do some moderate exercising & you lose weight. Simple, easy & healthy!
Good Luck!

I have had several friends do the "points" system and they lost an average of 20-30 lbs each, but most of them gained some back after they stopped the meetings.
