I've recently found out that I am moving to New Mexico within 4 weeks/by May 1st, but possibly as soon as next tuesday.

It'll be 2 parents, a teenager, and a 2 yr old

We're looking for a city with:

-city electricity/water (we're not moving right into the sticks)

-moving agents/van lines (father's line of work) within 20 minutes of town

-cigarettes no more than $5.50 a pack

-rent for a 2 bed apt or house no more than $750/month

-english as the spoken language of the teachers in the mainstream classes of the public schools (however, school quality otherwise is not a big issue)

-and preferably a town with at least 3,000 people or within 5 minutes of such a town

Where I live now, ARABIC is spoken by the teachers, in the public school system

In Blanca, CO, SPANISH is spoken by the teachers in the classrooms

Don't act like I'm full of s* because I have seen it with my own eyes.

New Mexico has been a state since 1912. And it's a beautiful state, at that. The people are friendly, the culture is rich and the history is full and interesting. You can find some of the best medical facilities in the country on Albuquerque.

There are great cities and towns all across New Mexico. My dad is from the Chama area in northern New Mexico. My uncle still lives there. I have another uncle in Farmington, one in Albuquerque and an aunt in Roswell.

I would suggest you do a little more reading. And I hope you find a good school for your children. I think it's important that they get as much schooling as possible to offset the ignorance they're exposed to at home.

The rent issue will keep you out of Santa Fe and Taos but, other than those two expensive cities, you can pretty much pick any town in New Mexico and get most of the other things that you're looking for.... I'm pretty sure there are moving agents/van lines in most of the towns with population over 10,000. There's certainly several moving agents/van lines here in Las Cruces.

But, geez, English is the spoken language of all the mainstream classes in public schools.

New Mexico is a state of the USA! We speak English and cigarettes come for whatever price they are anywhere else (I wouldn't know the specific price since I don't smoke), and the cities all have electricity and water and moving agents. We are not a foreign country...we're right next to Texas and Arizona, beneath Colorado and coming here would be the same as being in California or something. Come to any city you'd like: Santa Fe, Hobbs, Clovis, Albuquerque, Las Vegas, anywhere! We are normal Americans!

Do you think New Mexico is not a state? It is a state and we are english speaking and use US Dollars. Albuquerque is the biggest city of about 425 thou and growing. Cigarettes are about 4.28 a pack and PNM is the electric/gas provider. Moving lines are the normal ones....United, Global and such.
