I'm looking for one that doesn't have the delay when you shoot your photos.

I use a Nikon D50 - absolutely brilliant - and you can get more and bigger lenses for it .

The sony cybershot series is good too.. but i prefer the Nikon.

If you really hate the delay (flash charge time) you should look into a DSLR. Pentax, Canon and Nikon all make a cheap DSLR for around $600 give or take a little.

Also remember that you may have to purchase an additional lens to use the camera.

If you don't want to pony up for a digital SLR, you might look at another Canon. I have a Powershot SD900 and it is darn quick on the shutter release. I'd say it's nearly instantaneuos, as long as you are already focused or in relatively bright light.

Kodak's award-winning v570 is value for money point-n-shooot.
Nikon is best if u r professional & understand and intrested in serious photography.

Speed is more a function of memory speed. Check out Ultra & Extreme series in Scandisk, the fast memory to avoid delay.
