I know I have 30 gigs of my 52 gig hd tied up in music, but I'd like to know where the bulk of the other 20 gigs is... is there a program that will tell you how the rest of the hard drive space is being used/allocated?

yeah i know about defragging, my computer actually won't let me defrag because it has so little space left (275 mb free)... i was just curious if there was an extraneous program that would tell me exactly where the most bulk is.

http://windirstat.info/

WinDirStat will show the space in each folder and file and give a graphic representation of the different filetypes if you like. What format is the music in? MP3's are pretty compact, WAV's can be huge.

CCleaner is an excellent disk cleanup program. If you don't have your browser set to delete temporary internet files, they can build up. So can Hotfix uninstallers from Windows updates. You can also change the amount of space reserved for the Recycle Bin and for System Restore.

Crude way is to search in Windows Search the complete disk, sort on file type select same file type right-click and see size. If u care about size sort on size.
Or use softwares like

not sure, but if you right-click on your c drive and go to properties it will at least tell you how much is still free, also if you go to defrag and analyse, it will give you a type of breakdown on your drive useage

Go START ==> ALL PROGRAMS ==> ACCESSORIES ==> SYSTEM TOOLS ==> DISK DEFRAGMENTER. It does not make feel so that you can set up a application that's going to absorb house in your difficult force, and while u want loose house.
