i dont know how it works either but dont kill yourself and im not one of those people who just says that either i have wanted to commit suicide before and it just is not a good idea. you should commit yourself to a hospital, go there and tell someone, they will want to help. but remember i care about you and i bet others do too you just cant see it
PS try to stay sober, i know it is hard
pps my mom went into a mental hospital for a while and now she is doing better, you need a way to get straightened out and then you can get back into a good life

If you are that depressed, and you have no place to live, committing yourself might not be a bad idea. It's not as awful as everyone says. They will give you medication and put you in therapy to try to treat your depression. The amount of time that you spend there depends on how well you respond to treatment, what your home situation would be (you might be there a long time if you have no other place to go, but that wouldn't necessarily be such a bad thing, the residential programs have some degree of freedom), and believe it or not, how serious your insurance company thinks it is (if you have state health insurance you're likely to stay there longer because the state health insurance is less regulated than other health insurance). I don't know how admitting yourself would go if you're a minor. You would probably need your legal guardian to sign off on it, although it's worth trying to admit yourself on your own. If you want to admit yourself, I would try going to the emergency room of the nearest hospital and telling them about all of the stuff that's been happening (suicidal thoughts, cutting, drugs, etc). I hope things get better for you.

A hospital might not be the worst idea, but don't close out your other options right off the bat. You need positive support from others. If you don't have anyone who's really there for you, make an effort to find people who can relate to you on some level, and not just with drugs. Have you gone through being a couch surfer? In any case, keep your options open. I know that may sound silly, because you don't seem to have many options, but we're all lucky to be alive. There is a reason you're here. I'm sorry about what you're going through. You can make it. Life is what you make of it.

You need to go to a shelter, go to the emergency room, there are people out there that can help you, even go to a church and talk with the minister or priest, and I can almost guarantee they will find you the right medical care you need for feeling this way, and find you a safe environment to live..you don't have to worry what people think, you just need to go to a safe house even, any of these can get you a place to stay, especially you being a minor, and you have a right to be depressed, but, don't give up and commit suicide, get that out of your head...look around your town, there are signs at places like McDonald's even that say safe house, which means they will get you to the proper people to help you. Drinking will also cause you more depression and put more problems on top of the one's you are have. You have your entire life ahead of you, you can get it back on track, you just need some guidence, and help, and there isn't anything wrong with asking for help, and for you to be cutting also, you need to get a professional, which any of these places can help you...it might be you need to go to a hospital for a while, but, it might not be too...try to look at the positive, you are young, you have your entire life ahead of you, but, only if you don't think these things, sounds like you have something besides depresson going on, maybe you are bi-polar or scizophenic, but, to be homeless is enough to break anyone, beleive me, I've been there, I lost my house, car, job, and had two small kids at the tiime...and then was in an accident that left me in a coma for three months, leaving me to have to learn to walk and talk, eat, ect. all over again...let me tell you, death might seem the easy way out, but, like when I was in a coma, life went on, and it's really harder on people than someone dying because they are just waiting and waiting to see if you do come out, but, yet life went on, my kids still had to go to school, ect...I'm about in your shoes now, but, I try and always think the best of every situation or else you will go nuts, believe me, by the time I sought help, they couldn't believe I hadn't already had a nervous breakdown, which I've always been stronge in my mind and won't let things get to me, and to me death is the worst, and once you are dead, there is no second chance, you need to find a social worker, go to a school, talk to a counselor, find someone, and people will help you...there are some nice people still left in this world believe it or not...but, go talk to someone asap, and don't rely on the internet...you will hear all kinds of help from people and such, and sometimes, it can be worse than when you started, I say go talk to anyone, and you will get help...good luck

Lately, all the time. I don't know what's wrong with me and how to cure myself. Unfortunately, I have parents who have worked in the psychiatric field all their lives so I know it'll just be worst if I admitted myself. And, no, for parents who've been in this field for so long, they don't understand me at all, which just makes it worst!
