Tops among current jocks have to include John Velasquez, Edgar Prado and Garret Gomez in the US. Over the past several years these three have really stood out from the rest.
You can view their 2006 stats at http://www.drf.com/eclipse/2006/statistics-jockeys.html , although John Velasquez suffered a serious injury mid-year and missed several months of riding. He holds the current earnings record for single-season at over $20million in one year.

Hi We have some great Jockeys in Australia who would be very competitive anywhere in the world. As many have proven in their international ventures. Of the best here at the moment couldnt go past Darren Beadman based in Sydney. Craig Williams, and Craig Newitt in Melbourne. Great female jockey in Adelaide Clare Lindop. Also guys like Jimmy Cassidy and Darren Gauci have been around for ever and have great ability, and charisma to back it up. I'd be interested on ur thoughts from your part of the world.

Edgar Prado, Mike Smith, Garrett Gomez, Victor Espinoza, John Velazquez, Russel Baze (winningest jockey... i like him... he rides hard to the finish regardless of whether he's winning or not), Corey Nakatani (he's a great young jockey), Javier Castellano, Jeremy Rose, Alex Solis, Fernando Jara, Julien Leparoux (another good young jockey... I saw him win a couple races today)... that's a few... I always forget someone though ;o)
