Both,
if your lucky, as I was you'll get yourself a carreer, where you get to travel too,
& if your not, forging your way up the ladder, & upping your earning power, will mean you wil be able to afford to travel more in your time off,
& if your any good at your job, you should be able to convince your employer that you deserve a paid sabatacle...
I know a few people who's employers would rather pay them to go travelling for a few months, than lose them altogether.
The opportunity to travel, will always be there, the carreer opportunities might not, grab them while you can.

I picked a career at 24. I'm 31 now and within the next couple of years I will take some time out to travel. I have a lot more common sense now! I wanted to get financially secure first but I have friends who travel and it works for them. I think if you were younger I'd say travel but at thirty I would go for the career as you'll find it harder the older you get to establish yourself. All the best!

I would choose career, because if you are thirty and have girlfriend, this is time for your family. You can travel when you are younger. But if I was single, i had choosen career abroad, so I could travel, too.
