That is scummy. There is something fishy about his answer if he was excited and then bailed out. I would drop hints that you are "on the market" again for a prom date. Maybe there is a guy you would like to ask. To be honest, some will say "Just go stag with your friends," I wouldn't. If you don't get asked or if you don't ask someone... at least you'll save money. You and your girlfriends should think of an alternative prom. For instance, you can Saran wrap and toilet paper the car of the guy you were supposed to go with.

Well, there isn't a whole lot you can do. The guy sounds like a jerk.... go ahead and get mad and cry a little, then get over it.
This is prom, you deserve to have a good time. Either ask another guy to go with you, or go stag with some girlfriends. One of the best dances I ever went to was without a date, just hanging out with the girls.
I know it may seem like the end of the world right now, but you can still manage to have a great time. You deserve a great prom memory, so don't let this guy ruin it for you.
If it comes down to it and you don't want to go, don't. Find something fun to do and have no regrets!
Make the best of it!

Go alone or with some of your girl pals. It will be a lot more fun this way any way and you can dance with as many ppl as you'd like and mingle with as many people you'd like w/out the obligation of sticking by your dates side. Then you get someone to roll the house of the guy who bailed with toilet paper!!

Boys are so fickle, aren't they? I know it feels bad to be dumped--BTDT!

If he's going to be that way to you, you're better off without him. He's probably going to be there with someone else, so ask yourself if you wanted some jerk to be your date in the first place.

Ask someone else instead and have a good time with whatever date you go with to the prom. Having fun is the best revenge against someone who dumped you. I'm sure there's someone at your school who thinks you're awesome and would love to dance with you.

I knew this girl once where this happened and she was very resourceful. She easily found someone who was handsome, polite, looked exquisite in his tux, and danced with her the whole night. He played no games with her and a night that was wonderful. It was her father.
