I've known cats that enjoyed shredding toilet paper and paper towel rolls too. It's entirely too much fun for them!
It won't harm him to shred the toilet paper (it may annoy Mom though) but it could be bad if he keeps eating it. Keep in mind though, he may just be using his teeth to shred the paper and pull chunks off; he might not be swallowing it at all. And if he does swallow it, a *little* won't hurt him. Too much will though. Could cause a lot of stomach & gastrointestinal type problems.
Regardless, I'd try to distract him with new toys - catnip mice, ping-pong sized balls, feathery toys, paper bags - even crunched up paper balls.... anything to steer him away from the toilet paper. You might consider keeping the bathroom door closed for the next several months, so he loses interest. All in all, he's better off without his toilet paper plaything!

Remember toilet paper contains bleach , and other
chemicals. Constantly eating paper products could be harmful. Try giving the little guy a catnip toy.
good luck

It's not edible food, therefore I wouldn't think it is good for any animal. As for the TOILET PAPER, put the roll on BACKWARDS on the roller and then it will not unravel(unroll)..I had trouble with that with one of mine when it was a kitten. That cured the problem. As for the OTHER paper, you will just have to keep it out of reach of your cat. Good Luck

This is normal kitten behavior. So put your stuff away and shut the bathroom door. It won't hurt the kitty if he doesn't stuff himself but he's mostly just biting and scratching. I think he'll grow out of it. Mostly.

no, it's not going to hurt him. just don't let him do it too much. your mother is prolly telling you it is bad for him so you get him out of the annoying habit of wanting to shred and eat paper.

No, because the paper expands inside their stomachs and then they get a REALLY bad stomach-ake and then they keep puking!
