The interesting part about this!!, Her son doesn't a stone. See, by regulation, the soldier gets a stone from the VA, all the family has to do is claim it. She has plenty of time to run around but has not taken the time to take care of her son tomb. By the way, she abandoned him when he was little and for the record, she is giving up custody of her kids from this marriage so she can run around playing a weeping mother. Spc Sheehan reenlisted to go to Iraq, it was unfortunate that he got killed, just like any other service member, but most member come home and their family take time to honor their service, unlike her. She is nothing more than a publicity hound and she belittles the pain that other family members that lost someone and are really suffering. I would love to see her protest in Iraq, that is where she needs to be and hopefully find an IED and save a soldier's life.

She doesn't. In fact she has succeeded in bringing her son's name into the homes of millions of Americans. We all could wish for such a mother.

Yes sometimes we have to fight for our freedom. Last time most of us looked Iraqis were not trying to take our freedom away. Personally, I am sick of all this ridiculous freedom talk. Young men and women are being killed and maimed because of a made up war and still there are people in this country who feel compelled to blather on about freedom.

Let's spend more time caring about life and the lives of those who are every day put in harms way. When the mission is wrong, every American has an obiligation to say it and to get our American men and women out of a struggle that abuses the trust that they place in us.

What Cindy Sheehan chooses to say is not for you or me to worry about, even if she looks sort of goofy to many people, including me. I mean, her son did join a land warfare component of the armed forces, and in my opinion when you volunteer for something like that you have to partially accept the possibility that you may be shot or blown to bits. I even accepted that possibility when I joined the Navy years ago. Even the Coast Guard ends up guarding ports where plots like the one that hit the USS Cole occurred. Honestly I don't think I could grieve for so many years and with such intensity, and for me the grieving process usually has some cycle that is between 1 and 9 months. But it doesn't really matter what I think.

Again, it's Sheehan's business, not yours, Bill O'Really's or mine. Listen to her point or don't, I say. You also have the right to disagree with her publicly, but when you try to silence others, you can expect that accordingly people will show you their disapproval with your attempt to suppress dissident views.

I see that you understand the liberties and values her son fought for, such as the Bill of Rights- thanks for recognizing that those things are compatible with your own personal values, religion, etc.

"She has freedon of speech because her Son and other brave Men and Women die for our COUNTRY."

The war in Iraq has nothing to do with freedom of speech, unless you include all the Republicans who are telling all the Democrats to shut up about the war.

Sheehan isn't defaming her son's name. She's speaking out against an illegal war that's killing young Americans... for nothing.

It would have taken that moron Bush 10 minutes to speak to that woman, and the mess would have been over with! I feel that is the least he could do for the families grieving over the loss of their child or spouse who died in a senseless war that has solved nothing! All he had to do was talk to a grieving mother!
And yes I do support our troops, I hold each and every one of those kids in my heart and prayers every day! I just don't believe in the job they are being ordered to do!

You said it.

We have freedom of speech (to a certain degree actually, you should look it up) and she has a right to say whatever she wants and to protest whatever she wants.

It's called a Democracy!

I'm happy you learned this valuable lesson today.

WHy do you defame Cindy Sheehans son. A moterh is a legitimate representative of her son, when he passed away. I can't see how you could reasonably represent her son.

How can you stand in judgment of a grieving mother???

This war is not about keeping our freedom.

For those who have died to protect our freedom of speech, do you suppose they did so so that we would NOT use it?

GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Cindy Sheehan does not "defame" her son, fascists like you do.
Now go stick your "sky daddy" where the sun does not shine.
