Try giving him childrens benadryl, you can also buy products with omega 3 that you add to their food. Our 2 yr old dog suffers from the same thing and we've spent hundreds on different things and have recently gone on line with "Foster & Smith" and they have many natural cures, try looking them up on line and read about their product, their reasonable and you should be able to find something to relive your poor little dude, its heartbreaking to see them suffer like that.Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like he is having hot spots on his skin. This happens to lighter or pink skinned dogs when they have dryness of the skin and/or bites or scratches.

I had a lab/husky cross for years that had problems with this. She was given some medications/antibiotics which helped somewhat. The best thing that helped her was that we would put mineral oil in her food. This actually helped alleviate the dryness, and kept her skin more smooth and flexible. We would put a couple of spoonfuls in each meal.

We also would rub the really raw spots with Bag Balm, and that would help a lot.

She had one really bad time that she had to wear one of those cone type collars for a few days until the spots would heal. These things were all suggested by our vet, so we knew they were safe.

I hope this helps your poor dog.

Have a good day.

Go to your local feed store they have spray medications made for dogs and cats made just for this problem, Its a bit pricey and don't remember the name but a bottle costs about fifteen bucks. The same medication that I used for my cat I let my neighbor use on her basset hound and worked great. Petco may carry this item also.

How about trying another vet. Have you tried changing his food? Maybe he allergic to his current diet. Make that phone call and tell your vet you need something today!!!!!!!!!!!!
