After becoming a Christian, It's probably not the best idea to become tatooed
The body is considered a temple etc. But If you believe in Jesus and receive the Holy Spirit and confess your sins, you will become clean in the eyes of God. However if you believe that it may be offensive to the Lord for you to get tatooed, then why do it? If you have gotten the tatoo's before becoming a Christian, or didnt know that it was frowned upon by God, It would not nessessarily be a sin.
I had tatto's before becoming a true Christian, so there is nothing I can do about it now. But I will never get another one.
I feel that if there is a doubt that it could be a sin or unpleasing to God, then it would be better to not do it.

I don't think the Bible says anything about tattoos although it might be classed as decorating your body as in:

1Peter 3:3&4, Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

Of course having a tattoo or not has no bearing whatsoever on whether you go to heaven or not. The only access available to heaven is through your belief that Jesus died for your sins in your place - saving grace needs no works at all. You can't DO or NOT DO anything to get to heaven. Just believe in Jesus... Hope this is helpful.

Throughout the bible, we see verses such as Lev. 19:28 and 1 Cor. 3:16-17 which tell of the sanctity of the body. At this point, you have to ask yourself "Would I be somehow defiling or even mutilating my body by putting a tattoo on it?"

I would suggest that you ask God. Ask Him whether He would approve of the things which you have planned for your body and I can testify that he will truly manifest the truth of it to you. I would also suggest that you read 1 Cor. 6:19-20 in conjunction with that and you'll know.

The bible doesn't say anything specific about tattoos. I think it's one of those things that you have to decide on between yourself and God. In my church, we've got a few great, committed Christians with multiple piercings and tattoos. I think God's more interested in your heart, your motivation, how you treat ppl etc. However, like other ppl have said, the bible does say that your body's a temple of the Holy Spirit...

well, I'm a none believer, so I wouldnt know what it says in the fairy story, BUT, I am covered in tattoo's, (full body) and what I will say is tattoo's are for life, so think very carefully before you commit to having any. Oh and if you want one done right dont use these clowns in england, the only place to get a peace of skin art is china. (no tattoo guns there, sharpend bird quills)

Dude, seriously now, I'm 15 and think you are slightly odd, now you sound like a good christian. I am a stiff nosed athiest and still even I know that nothing is mentioned about tatooes. God forgives your sins, says the bible, ST peter isn't going to tell you to go to hell cause you have got a tatoo. Sorry if i sound harsh but if god will forgive a murderer a thief I'm sure he'll forgive you for gettin a tatoo. Besides who said tattoes are sinful

I do not believe the bible says anything about them but does say that are body is a temple and we should not defile it.

In my religion which is Mormon we cannot go to the temple to preform ordinances if we are accountable and know that we should not defile our bodys. But if we repent we can continue to go but we are told there will be consiquence beyond this life for it.

Having tattoo's will not affect your entry into heaven, but I do believe that God frowns upon them. The Bible says that our body is a temple and should be treated as thus. I suppose tattoo's would equate to graffiti on a church wall. In my stages of rebellion I got four tattoo's and there is nothing I can do about it now. But I try to be respectful and not let them show when I'm at church. In another sense you could see tattoo's as adornments, like decorating the church wall. It depends on your view I guess. But it will not affect your going to heaven, that is wholly dependent on your accepting Christ as your Savior. Some ink isn't going to jeapordize that.

Levitius 19: 28 refers to the disfiguring of your body, such as tatooes as the way of the pagans back then they would cut themselves or tatooe themselves to get their God's (idols that satan had set up to worship him) attention. Hope this helps, you are not tatooing yourself to get a pagan God's attention and so therefore...

Leviticus 19:28 bans tattoos. Christians are not under the old law so you could consider it like eating ham. On the other hand, it is sinful to want to attract attention to yourself or to dishonor the body God gave you. I suggest you pray hard and consult the people you respect to see if you really want attention for God or for yourself.
