no. in fact, you dont have to file it at all. But doing so puts others on notice that you have whatever rights the quitclaimant had. If thats not important, you dont need to file it at all until you go to sell the property. At that point you will need it to demonstrate quite title.

Technically no, but if the person who gave you the quitclaim gives another one to someone else and they record it before you do you may have problems perfecting your title. This HAS happened so you should not delay in filing the deed.
