Isn't that what he did for us. He was crucified for our sins. What else would a person call it. It's what the Bible calls it and I know what you are getting at but the word is not divided so why go there and why continue to try and make the Christian believe a fable when the Bible has not faltered for thousands of years.

Read the book of John over and over, and ask God for an understanding heart - maybe you will learn something and have something to do then to make the words of the bible something they are not. Try spelling it this way crucifixion. Takes on a whole new look and perspective.

If you're going to tell me that Jesus and God don't exist at least come up with something more plausible than a coincidence.

Pegasus, noone ever said that he's the only one who's been hung on a cross, but how many others do you know who arose from their grave and rose again 3 days later? Furthermore, you are on the list of people He died naked and beaten beyond recogniton on that old rugged cross for,. He wanted everyone, even the people who yelled "Crucify him!" and picked Him even over a murderer to be crucified, to have the opportunity to join Him in Heaven to the point that even as He was hanging there and only a few from death on that cross, He cried "Father forgive them; they know not what they do!"

First of all, the question is not if. He really did.

Second of all. It is called Crucifixion, because of the way Jesus died. When people died back in the days of the early Romans, they were hung on a cross as a way of punishment, and also, it was also a way of humiliation to the family.

Sorry Carl, but I really think that you are full of 'hot air'. There is no such word as crucifiction, it was 'execution on the stake'. You must have seen that play of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' way too many times.

It is time for you to start using your own thinking rather then the thinking of men.

And yes, He died for you and me and He will return once again!

It was the most suffering form of slow death , Along with the piercing of hands and feet,Your body weight would slowly suffocate you , if you didn't suffocate at the end of the day they would come along and break your legs ..Jesus gave up the ghost before they came to break his legs.

He died for you sins too. And there is not fiction about that. But it is really sad if you do not appreciate it.

Jesus did not die. He is alive and well and working as a shelf stocker in a Walmart outside of Chicago.

just because in one language it has the word fiction in the word doesn't mean anything. this question is just making people think more than they need to. to make up stories to take people away from the Christian faith.
