Unfortunately that's a normal part of growing up. Its caused by the oil glands in your pores.
However unavoidable acne is, you can take steps to help ease it.
1 wash your face daily with a really good cleanser or exfoliant. I like dove's moisturizing exfoliant face scrub. Bath and Body works and H2O plus also have great face cleansers.
2 Keep your pillow cases, sheets and bedding clean. Oil from your face can get trapped there and can get back onto you and clog your pores.
3 For serious acne, Proactive has worked wonders for friends of mine. There are also perscription skin creams for acne your doctor can perscribe.
4 if you wear make up, clean your applicators, puffs and brushes often to keep dirt and oil from being put back into your pores.
5 Use make up that is oil free as well.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.
The secret is never to touch the spots
Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

I truely feel for you. I had bad horrible acne as a teenager and still do as an adult, some people never grown out of it. This is what I do, I use Pro-active 2 times a day on my face it really is as good as they claim. I also get discounted birth control pills from planned parenthood. You can to at 13 if you are interested, you do not need a parent with you or parental consent to get them. Birth control will help to balance out your hormones making the ups and downs of them less which trigger break outs. With those combined I usually only get one or two zits a month and my skin looks great. Good luck!

I'd say don't eat really oily foods. Stay away from chips for sure. It may help your skin from being oily which normally clogs pores and causes pimples. Also just wash your face alot to make sure the oil is gone. Soap works well. Otherwise there are many different products that should help. Also since your only 13 give yourself some time. Many people grow out of it.
