Poor fellow. That must have been pretty traumatic. You can be philosophical and say that deeply sad things like that happen every day. If you have faith in God pray for emotional healing. The baby will have gone to heaven, and will be very well loved and cared for.
In general, God does not control the World. Nature is largely autonomous, people have free wills, bad things happen to good people.
Some christian denominations believe God controls everything ("God is sovereign"). I think that doesn't fit with the gospels:
When Jesus was on Earth He spent a lot of His time in healing ministry. Those horrible situations were what life had dealt those afflicted people, but Jesus healed them. He also blamed Satan and his host of fallen angels for creating a lot of the human misery in our world. This world is a spiritual war zone.
If you had some christian relatives interceding for your family things might have been different. People devoted to prayer ministry are called 'prayer warriors'.
You could emulate evangelist Rodney Howard Browne. His teenage daughter got involved with drugs and died, a horrible thing for a parent to endure, their pride and joy being taken from them so tragically. Rather than lose heart, he has used that to gain motivation.

Why blame God,you think thats all he has to ,go around the earth killing people and hauling them off to heaven some place?Wouldnt be much of a creator and designer would he,any Tom Toe can do those things and it wouldnt tie in with his universal purposes but an enemy of his would do such things to twart a much greater purpose.

It's tragic that happened to you. Poor fellow. I don't know how you could stand it. Now, get off the pity pot and try and make yourself useful to the parents of your nephew. They may be in some pain, you know.

Sometimes bad things happen. There's no need to attribute them to any supernatural force. Random events occur, and they often have a bad effect.
Sorry for your loss.

I don't know; perhaps He thought that you were the one who could handle it best, and could spare the baby's mother from the discovery.
My sympathies on your loss.

Nobody chose you. There is no god to control the world; sometimes bad things just happen.
I'm sorry for your loss.
