I think Shelties are wonderful dogs. You should be aware that they can be herdy and what that can mean in terms of training. There is a remedy for any issue though, you should just know that it might be coming. I know someone with a very nice Sheltie who was taught that she had to carry a toy in her mouth when she was running around with little kids to prevent nipping at the kids' heels.

This appears quite intricate. However, i do know three 12 months historic shelties which can be most effective about 13 inches tall. It can be practically the identical size as a Yorkie. It's real that in the event you groom your Sheltie mostly then it will be Aye-k. Also, again to the dimensions factor, for those who get possibly a one 12 months historical twelve to thirteen inch Sheltie then it will have to be full grown and that's the scale challenge out the window. Your moms and dads may be serious about Collies. Sooner or later at dinner, try to talk about it, and worst involves worst, wait except you progress out? You seem really mature and normally around the age of as a minimum fifteen.

Your mum and dad could be thinking approximately Collies. at some point at dinner, attempt to speak approximately it, and worst is composed of worst, wait until eventually you progression out? You look fairly mature and in all possibility around the age of a minimum of fifteen.

Awesome Dog. I've got one, right now. He's about to turn 11. He's a very sweet dog loves to play, bark at people coming into the house, and be quite. My dog is kinda a loner.. He's VERY VERY obedient.. can't find any like them. Other then that, I would wanna tell yaa they can be a jealous type & they need to be brushed. They shed in the Spring & the Fall.
One thing that cracks me up with a sheltie is when you & your bf may be kissing and my dogg will start barking cause he's jealous he doesn't get any attention

I think shelties are awesome dogs. They have great personalities and just a good dog all around. My best friend had 2 of them and they lived for what seemed like forever before passing away and they were the sweetest dogs ever!

I wouldn't own one unless I adopted an adult that I knew was confident and secure.
I've met 5 purebred shelties. They were all VERY timid. My husband had a mix that was predominantly sheltie, and that one was a wonderful dog. They are awfully cute.

Any dog can be a good pet. The real question you need to ask yourself is are you a good pet owner? Are willing to exercise your pup on a regular basis, socialize him to people and other animals. Train him to be a good doggy citizen. Can you afford to take care of him? Those are the real questions.

I am most definately getting one after college. They're very smart and learn quickly. They aren't high maintainance and great for novice owners. Easy to train and a great addition to one's life. I say go for it, I know I am.

They are a great pet, but you have to groom daily. They drop alot of hair. They are very attentive and look great when you take them with you to Petco.

We had one for several years, she was a very sweet dog. Just required a lot of grooming due to her long hair.
