In Excel 2007 under data tools there is a remove duplicates feature - just click on the column that you want the duplicates removed from. I'm not sure how to access this on older versions of Excel but you can try typing remove duplicates in the help menu and see what comes up.

Another excellent source for information is www.mrexcel.com - go onto their message board (you'll have to create a user account and log in) - but you'll get your answer pretty quick. They are all excel and visual basic experts.

Good luck.

probably the least confusing thank you to do it is to apply a set merchandise with a key. it is quite the way Microsoft get right of entry to makes specific it would not have duplicates and how Excel makes specific it would not have reproduction worksheets with the comparable tab call. right this is probably extremely the style you may bypass approximately it. this may be a macro for purely one column. Sub RemoveDuplicates() Dim i As long Dim myColl As New series Dim LastRow As long, FirstRow As long With ActiveWorksheet FirstRow = .UsedRange.Row LastRow = .UsedRange.Row + .UsedRange.Rows.count extensive style - a million On blunders Resume next Err = 0 For i = LastRow To FirstRow Step -a million myColl.upload .selection("A" & i).fee CStr(.selection("A" & i).fee) If Err <> 0 Then .selection("A" & i).EntireRow.Delete Err = 0 end If next i end With On blunders GoTo 0 end Sub right this is quite a proof of what it does. It first shows the 1st and final row of your documents so that is not any longer having to hunt via 60 some thousand lines. next, it loops from the final line to the 1st line so lines are not skipped because it is deleting duplicates. It creates a clean series, then commencing on the backside of the advice it starts including documents to the series. If it comes in the process a replica, as desperate via the main this is CStr(.selection("A" & i).fee). Then an blunders occurs and Err no longer equals 0. It then takes that cellular and deletes the total row for that cellular. After the row is deleted, Err is reset to a cost of 0 to income for a replica lower back. It retains shifting up and does that many times lower back till it reaches the 1st row of your documents. in case you prefer to circumvent utilising VBA if achieveable, a stable thank you to do it is to style the advice via that column. Then upload a clean column to the the excellent option of it. Use the coolest function to income in spite of if the A2 = A1 and replica the formula down. then you definately can filter out in accordance with real or fake for that column. Later you could delete the inserted column with the formula once you have deleted the reproduction rows.
