dad just asked about my girlfriend, your not going to marry her are you?? i was like how should i know, im 16 for crying out loud. 16 is way to young to be married, (i think one should wait at least untill 25--if your in love) yes, i am thinking about marriage in the future, but not now. its just the girl he was asking about i am pretty serious about, but i dont want to be thinking about marriage untill i am at least of legal age. how should i react when someone says that??

As far as your dad is concerned just tell him not right now but if we decide to later i will tell you first because your a great dad and friend.and as far as everyone else just say im not ready and change the subject.it sounds like you are very mature.

Just say that you don't know yet and you'll decide when it's time for you marry. Fairly simple I guess. Not a big deal.
- The reason for my answer is because people change and it's only beginning. Marriage is a serious thing and if you say so now and not do so in the future then that would be really horrible...

Say that you're 16, you do feel like you will marry someday, but it may or may not be this girl. Though you'd love for it to be her. Though, once again, you're 16, so you have no idea and have no need to think about something so far in the future.

Tell them the truth, you're too young to being thinking about marriage but, if you two are still together when you're 25, you'll think about it then. Right now, you just want to live in the moment.

I think how you just ansered it was very exceptable. Now if you are having sexual relationship with her I feel that your Dad is just wanting to know that you are taking the precautions of not getting into trouble with the other head. Talk with him more open then he just did you.....tell him you care about her yes and you are being safe in dating her but you do have goals and things you would like to do before settling down.

Tell your dad what you just told us. You want the relationship, but marraige is still a bit far off.
Oh and I was 16 when I found my fiance, I'm now 18. So it's not always to do with how young you are, but how ready you are.

just say yes but in about 10 years time though, unless she gets pregnant, now stop asking stupid questions. that should shut them up. don't forget to laugh/smile when saying it.
