When atheists try to argue with Christians, we try to deal with it the best we can. Whenever you ask an atheist a question like "Why do they come to yahoo answers religion if they don't beleive in God or god's ?, they say that they still need to know religion. Why? If you don't beleive morals or faith is important, then why do you think knowing about religion is important. There is no reason for an atheist to know about religion except he is training to know how to deceive beleivers. It is very obvious that is the only reason that they want to talk to Christians. They say that they are "trying to educate others". They use the word educate when they really mean deceive. Why are atheists so concerned about education. Unless they have a degree in education or a job as a teacher or professor, then they are just making excuses or lieing.

Your question is deliberately misleading, and you know it. You hate atheists, and the sole purpose of this "question" is to trash atheists.
First, saying, "they say that they still need to know religion. Why? If you don't believe morals or faith is important, then why do you think knowing about religion is important." is a misleading, ignorant, and arrogant statement. But you are aware of that, because your intention was to be misleading and arrogant. (Maybe not ignorant, but ignorant was automatic when you asked that question.) Atheists have morals that are just as good as anyone else's. We just don't need to be moral because we fear the wrath of a deity. We're moral because we have brains, common sense, and empathy for our fellow human beings. Also, atheists have plenty of reasons to want to know about religion. Just because YOU don't UNDERSTAND why we do, doesn't mean that you're correct in saying that we only pretend to want to know so that we can deceive. It simply means that you don't understand why we do.
Grow up. We see through your BS. Oh...and you should take the "/truth" off the end of the "www.speara.info", because there's not a heck of a lot of truth in there.

Well, I can't speak for all atheists, but the reasons that I visit the religious forums on this and other sites is because I wish to know about the religions themselves, but more so I would like to understand the people that follow these religions. I think one of the fundamental differences between atheists and many theists is a willingness to learn and understand different points of view without necessarily feeling the need to believe them. In other words, I can read about why you so desperately need to believe in a god to be a good moral person without myself having to have a similiar construct. I think many religious people would be doing themselves a favor by learning about other belief systems (or lack of beliefs) instead of just blindly arguing and assuming superiority.
I do have to admit though, that the most interesting part of coming to the religous forums is to try and figure out how there are still people out there that are so brainwashed that they dismiss scientific evidence countering every cornerstone of their faith... talk about deceiving yourself!

You've completely misrepresented my reason for being here. I think religion has a huge effect on the society and culture that I live in. It's always been that way, but lately its taken a turn for the worse. I'm here to better understand what is happening, and to hopefully persuade some Christians that they are better served with a strong separation of church & state. A Christian theocracy in the U.S. would be harmful to everyone, even American Christians.

You might think that I am trying to deceive you by saying this. If so, then it's sad that your worldview is so paranoid that you can't accept my statements as what I genuinely believe.

First morals are not dependent upon religion, moral people come from all walks of life - believers and non-believers.

Second this is an open category - yahoo does not ban anyone from answering a question. Everyone, no matter their personal beliefs, has an opinion on their own beliefs or the beliefs of others. You have just showed your opinion above.

Third, spirituality can be a part of religion or separate from it so someone who does not believe in a deity can be spiritual and therefore this category is appropriate to them.

Oh, just like we know that you really lie and you don't believe in any god, you're just too scared to admit it to yourself?

Morality has little to do with religion; sometimes they're contradictory.

Many christians try to hurt those that don't belong to their religion; it is sometimes helpful to know your enemy.

And it is a wonderful thing to help a person realize the truth.

Would you care to point out SPECIFIC EXAMPLES if you have any instead of generalize? Your question is a little bit like saying 'all christians are child molesters".

You said: There is no reason for an atheist to know about religion except he is training to know how to deceive beleivers.

That's not true! We should all learn about all religions and the mentality of the followers. Our world is affected by all that, and it's important to know about it because of that.

LOL. It's always funny when a christian talks about being decieved. Especially when they claim that Athiests don't think Morals are important. Oh no i don't beleive that a magical man made the world 6000 years ago, clearly that means I have no morals!

Don't think or Satan will sneak into your mind and destroy your faith.

Can you not see that argument you present as an attempt by your religion to control your mind.

It sets you up as your own mental prison guard.

It is not locking anything out. It is locking you in.

Be not decieved!

The atheists are your friends listen to them!

They are here to help you.

Don't let irrational fears rule your mind.

1: You're obviously delusional
2: Atheists have every right to try and understand religion for any purpose they wish, weather it be personal understanding, to gather ammo against it, or a combination of the two.

3: Very few of us are lying. You're just too closed minded to understand anything beyond what you believe.
