No a/c on & no windows open. We did have the window open just as we were painting because the fumes were getting strong.

7 days?????? I have never know a primer to take that long to dry. They always say that if you wait over 7 days without painting a primed wall, you need to reprime, reason being primer has allot of glue in it, when that glue fully cures, it becomes glass like, and your paint wont have anything to grip to, therefore you would have to reprime, or sand. I would prime let it dry over night and paint the next day. If your doing multiple coats of primer, a couple hours between coats. Hope this helps.

I've waited about 24 hrs w/o an issue.

What kind of primer are you using? Are the windows open or are you running the AC in the house?

we painted over the primer after it sat overnight and it seemed fine...I suppose as long as it feels dry, it will be okay to paint on...they might put that on there just because some people are crazy or might live in a really humid area where it would take forever to dry...
