I just got a new desktop with Vista and no Word. In order to do my homework, I got WordPerfect.

First question: I click save, and it requires me to encrypt it with a password. I do so, and click OK. it says 'Save Failed for DMS DOCID. @PFDesktop\::ODMA'. How do I get it to save?

2nd Q: When I click 'print', it prints a bit of each document, like, a line or so, but nothing else. Its a random bit; usually near the end. This probably has nothing to do with WordPerfect, but I ask nonetheless.

I'm a bit surprised it does not have a check box to disable encryption.

For the printing, have you tested the printer with a different application? The wrong driver or settings can make strange output.

Another office suite you can try is OpenOffice.org. It's free and can open a wide variety of documents.
