Sorry, theres no hepatologist listed in there.... anyone know of the ones in
charlottesville? UVA

Hepatology is study of the liver. Gastroenterology is the study of the stomach and intestines, which would include the liver - Is there an Internist in your area? (His field is Internal Medicine.) He's the diagnostician of the bunch, the one the other doctors go to when they can't find an answer. If he's not the best one to treat you, he will know who is.
You do realize there's good and bad wherever you go, and that goes for doctors as well as mechanics. Hope you have better luck with a good doctor.
