I have already tried to look this up, but there are 846 similar questions and none of them seem to quite address my problem.

The problem starts with the fact that Service Pack two kills my hubby's computer. In order to clean install I have to shut down my business and also find the time to deal with it. (Don't be so incredulous... some of us ARE that busy!) As such his system has not been able to be switched over to the DST this spring (It switched three (four?) weeks earlier than usual). It is waiting for the usual switchover in April, I assume (I hope). Because each time he adjusts for the hour change, it switches itself back (we don't know when because his system doesn't get shut down). I tried shutting down the automatic switchover, but then we're off by an hour anyway. Is there no way to simply set the clock?

What is the best way to fix this? We are in an EST zone.

there is no way to set it to change over to the new starting point unless yhou are a programmer.

i suggest you set it yourself manually each march and then on april first when the computer does it you go in there and set it back one hour.

Hi Tina,

It sounds like you have the wrong time zone set. Windows adjusts your time every day and when it does it thinks you are in a different time zone. Right click the time in the task bar, select adjust date / time and set your time zone then set your clock.

That will fix your problem.

Just put arrow on the time, right click once, and the adjustment comes up click it and change it, .
