I don't think i have depression, but I find it very difficult to wake up in the morning and its hard to do things. Instead of going to school and studying I just stay home and sleep for most of the day and then when I have some energy to get up I just sit infront of the TV. I also have no motivation to really do anything. I have a great life, familty, and a great job in my field. But I feel really lazy and want to know if this is depression or should i be taking ginsing pills for some extra energy?

Seems like the daily routine is burning you out. It has happened to be quite a few times before Severe burn out can turn into depression, in fact. But you are not depressed yet.
If your job doesn't require you to move around much, like a office job, you probably lack exercise and lost in touch with nature. Go to like a lake resort, beach house for a couple of weeks would work, that's what I do. Or spend a weekend out of town or country. Another suggestion is to break the routines and do someone fun or crazy on the side, like learning a new skill, language, travel, sing or dance, rock climb, learn to play a new sport, cook, do Yoga...

Lack of Motivation doesn't always mean depression more a slugish feeling. If you have feelings that you dont want to be here anymore are tearful for days and wont do anything then depression is definitely there.

I would get yourself a vitamin or pick me up and get yourself motivated through exercise, its the only way to get that happy hormone working again. just like a lightbulb, it goes faint when running low on energy and eventually burns out.. Replenish what u feel you've lost and get yourself back on your feet

It could be a number of things, it depends on how long this has been going on. I would say that if has gone on longer than a month or so, i'd see your regular practitioner. He/she may send you to a psychiatrist.

Sometimes your seratonin levels just need a boost for a temporary period of time. Talk to a professional for sure though.

Good luck !

Itcould be depression, but you could even possibly be anemic. My recommendation would be for you to visit your doctor and talk to him about it. It probably wouldn't hurt to take some ginsing, but be careful of how much you use.

i have the same problems, and i have been diagnosed with depression. Talk to your family member about it, see if it runs in the family, and also you will want to consult a licensed doctor/psycoligist to be sure. If the doctor does prescribe medication, i would suggest welbutren, but it may be different for you.

goodluck.

i am not positive, but it seems to me that you might have mono. but it is unlikley for people over the age of 30 to have mono. it could also be depression, maby you should do somthing that you enjoy with some of your best friends. or you could see a doctor to be sure of what you have, and to get some help. you could go to a depression class if that is what you think you might have.

-hope i helped!!

Maybe you should talk to your family about this, or your doc. Sometimes it's good to try to ignore things and do something for someone else, and just wait a little while to see if it'll pass...

Good Luck!
