U can do anything when you turn 18. But at the same time I do see what the effects can be when someone to immature drinks. That has nothing to do with age though. U can be immature at 18 or 25 or older so because u can be considered an adult at 18 i guess u should be able to drink if you honestly feel you are responsible enough. Man they should find a way to truly test that. Then you would be able to drink once you were found mature enough to do so.

18! plain and simple.. if one is considered a legal adult in all sense of rights and responsiblities than drinking should to. as a 20 yr old i can vote for our president, fight in our war, be tried as an adult if i murder someone but can't buy a beer? i understand that the law changed simply because 18-21 yr olds were responsible for the majority of drunk driving accidents and since that number went down whent the legal age became 21 there is no way american legislation will change back but i think its highly hypocritical of our government. canada's age is 18, mexico is 17, england 17, france 16... so much for the belief that america is the most progressive nation...

ok so there's my rant on the drinking age.. have a good day :)

In some Muslim states it is 18 for Muslims, No minimum age for foreigners and non-Muslims. This is a moral and religious issue everywhere in the world. I believe it should be 18, even though I did not drink until I was over 21 (honest).

It should be the same age as the minimum age to be drafted. In the US that would be 18 and Britain I think its 16, not sure bout it though. Whatever age they think you are competent enough to go out and kill each other should be the same age you can drink.

And as for the religious nuts who say get rid of alchohol. Take a look at history every time alchohol has been banned the number of drunks skyrocketed.

i think drinking should be like driving....you should have to study and take a test before being allowed to drink alcohol.
