"I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
Mahatma Gandi

"Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works" (Jam 2 : 18)

Even a christian myself I'd have more of a respect for the faith if we Christians led "Christ like" or in other word I'd be happier if we "christians" lead Christ-like.

"For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:" (2Co 2 : 15)

Absolutely. I am not sure what gender you are, but let's say that you were a woman seeking a marriage mate. Would you want a man who mistreats, disrespects and belittles his mother? No. Why? Because you want a man who will cherish and honor you. Do you think that all of a sudden, this man is going to change how he treats women? Is that a risk you are willing to take? Not likely.

Therefore, Christians, as the name applies means "Christ-like" and those who consider themselves such, but deliberately engages in war and other wrongdoing cannot call themselves Christians because Jesus said "all those who take the sword will perish by the sword." (Matthew 26:52)

People who consider themselves as Christ-like should imitate the "model that Jesus left for us to follow closely." (1 Peter 2:21) Remember, he was perfect, but even he still obeyed his heavenly Father Jehovah God.

I have more respect for Jehovah's Witnesses, who are perfect examples of being Christians (Christ-like) by the lives that they live. Jesus never strived for riches. JW's do not either because:

Matthew 6:24: "No one can slave for two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stick to the one and despise the other. YOU cannot slave for God and for Riches."

Jesus Christ used to preach in the Middle East, preaching to as many cities as possible, just as he said on one occasion: “Also to other cities I must declare the good news of the kingdom of God, because for this I was sent forth.” (Luke 4:43; 8:1; 16:16)

JW's preach the good news today in over 230 lands worldwide and the teachings are exactly the same. Perhaps you have seen one, talked to one or even heard them knock on your door. They are carrying out the commission to preach the good news throughout the inhabited earth. (Matthew 24:14)

Thanks,

Christians are no different form anyone else, everyone needs God's mercy.
But if a Christian messes up it's a poor excuse for non believers to knock the faith; after all, we follow God who didn't mess up, we don't follow ourselves, we leave that to the New Agers who think they're god and still make the same mistakes the rest of us make.

You cant expect people who don't respect God to have any respect for his people. Why are non believers even concerned with how Christians fall short, when they don't do anything for God at all whatsoever?

I wouldn't care to see anybody going around shooting off his yapper about being stronger than the Emperor. Or kicking over tables of small vendors.
