When Jesus Christ died on the cross all the sins of the world were laid on Him and the righteousness that was His was transferred or imputed to those who believed. Does this really work? Is this the truth and if so, how does His righteousness become mine?

Yes it's true, and it does work. He shed his blood and was the perfect sacrifice for sin. Blood must be shed for forgiveness if sins. You are "washed in the blood of Christ" when you accept Him as your Savior. His blood cleanses you from all unrighteousness, and you are justified (just as if you'd never sinned.) When God sees you, it is through Jesus' blood. God sees you as righteous, like Jesus.

Christ is God in the flesh. He has knowlage beyond anything or anyone in the universe. He died on the cross so that we could repent of our sins and live with Him in Heaven, not to study or come up with all these hypothosis about how He died on the cross.
