Well it's been two thousand years. Will Christians still be proclaiming it two thousand years from now. Or will they finally have given up as many of them have already?

Don't forget the gnashing of many small tiny sharp white teeth.( I know Betty, I have excessive adjective disease.)

When Jesus comes all dogs will bark, all cows will moo, and crocodile hatchlings will make that funny grunting sound.

Many have given up?:??? I'm seeing more and more people coming to the Lord. Only God know when that day will come. He wants none to be lost and He is patient....Thank Him for His patience...just remember that to God a day is like a year, and a year like a day....its been two thousand years since Jesus died for you and me...in that time the church has grown from 12 to millions or maybe billions over that time......if in two thousand yrs if God is still being patient even more...but I see no evidence of people "quiting" Jesus....if you truly come to Jesus there is no turning back.......those who come and leave are as a seed planted in stony soil....

"tongues will wag?" Don't think that's exactly what the scripture says. But that's beside the point. Christians have only proclaimed this once, continually, since the preaching work began. We never said it's happened yet, so that means we aren't proclaiming it again.

christians have proclaimed a lot of BS and not much Truth!

Here's some more FACTS about christians:

hell was created by christians - so shall they go there, to their hell!

christians have KILLED more people in the history of humanity than any other group.

christians have persecuted millions of "non-believers" just because they DIDN'T believe in "christianity!

christians are by far the most brain-washed - brain-dead believers in the world today!

Here's the Solution be prevail OVER christianity and religion too:

Create a private, personal, direct, divine Relationship with Our Creator and save your Soul from religion.

Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!

Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!

"religion is Spiritual fraud"; "religion is the Worse invention of humanity" - Jesus Christ, Buddha and any one else with Spiritual intelligence.

Read the scripture correctly. It does not say wagging.
Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess. big difference there.
I will proclaim it as long I am around. My Christianity is not threatened by anything or anyone. I stand firm in my belief in God and His plan for me....

God is very patient, not wanting anyone to perish. But He has decided that on a certain day, it will be enough, and then He will come.

As to your question, it is a fulfillment of a prophecy. As it is written: "First of all you must understand this: In the last days mockers will come and, following their own desires, will ridicule us by saying, "What happened to his promise to return? Ever since our ancestors died, everything continues as it did from the beginning of creation." (II Peter 3:3-4)

I would strongly recommend Paul Kirsch's new book "The History of the End of The World" for a good account of how virtually every generation has believed they lived in the end times.

The knees are already bending, and the tongues are already wagging. Maybe in the unlikely event that he returns, it will finally stop.
