I am a Christian who lives according to the word of God the best I can, and I repent of my sins daily, and work hard to change the parts of me that fall short of God's glory. i praise the Lord and live for Him.

Yeah I'm pretty true to what I believe in, but maybe others would disagree. My beliefs are more of a soup...a lot of different individual ideas that taste good to ME. After all it's my soup? Sometimes when they don't seem to have a common denominator, I have to look a little harder to rest easy with seemingly contradicting ideas. When I figure it out, I feel very wise...and usually misunderstood.

There are people who would say that I'm a hypocrite because I am a devout Christian who gets my kicks on rock and roll and margaritas. I am a Nader supporter, prochoice woman who loves babies. I am anti-war, more than a little socialist, grateful to be American, but sick of waving my flag. I am also inclined to believe in the theory of evolution, and I really wish other people were as allowed to be Muslim as I am allowed to be a Christian.

I am passionate that there is more than one way to skin a cat, and yet, I prefer the way I skin a cat...for my personal soup...and I do enjoy talking about my way of skinning cats. (Cat soup. Good heavens.) It helps me put my views to the test so I can see if they are still mine.

So what if people think I'm a hypocrite? I'm 38 and well on my way to becoming an old fart...from eating my cat soup. By the minute I get less concerned with what people think of me, but more desperate to tell my story so that someone can learn something from it. So yes. I do live true to my views. I just don't care if other people know it. I don't owe anyone an explanation for anything.

I have no religion label. I do believe in God. I believe in many peoples good teachings. Love, peace, understanding. I try to live this way as much as possible. I help people whenever I can, however I can. I try to understand why people do things and try to make people understand that arguing, nastiness, and fighting is wrong. More people need to talk and quit judging. I have to work on many things. I want to help people more. Ease more suffering. I want to teach my children about what's important. I haven't done a good enough job of that. I want to spend more time with my children. I very rarely lie. I want to be more responsible in my life so I don't lie at all, except to spare hurting someones feelings. I want to be more responsible when it comes to taking care of the planet. I want to be more active in making the world a better place. I am working to be a better person. The kind of person I think everyone should be. For everyone to be happier. I need to do much more though.

I believe being an atheist holds me to an even higher standard. I know this is the only life I have so I make the most of it. I know that being a good person warrants a good life. I do not do it to get the reward of heaven, a mansion or streets of gold. I do it because it is quite simply the right thing to do.

I will not be accountable for what? Are you accusing Atheists of some grievous transgressions that they should be accountable for? You must be a fence straddling agnostic to think like that. Well good luck to you keep trying to play it safe believing in nothing but maybe. I still have a couple of those unicorns left if you are in the market.

If you truly are a Christian you can learn to live accordingly to what God wants by reading his word. When we die we know there is more than just death and thats the end of us.

I'm a Christian:
The Bible was written so we can get to know God. He then sent His son, Jesus to earth, who perfectly imitated his Father. So we get to know God also by studying Jesus' life and ministry. Therefore, I know God to the point necessary or possible at this point in history for an imperfect human. And yes, I love and obey Him to the best of my imperfect ability.

You own "world view" is rather narrow. The majority of the humans on this planet are not Christians or atheists.

Yes. I am, and I'm neither of those. I guess that you forget there are more people in the world than just Christians and Atheists.

'''So, how substantial is your faith, or loss of it, on your survival?''' Its no longer substantial for survival, yet impacts your way of life and conduct. This in turn impacts the way you react to others. and because we are social creatures, you will possibly desire to declare that faith contributes to our survival. '''If it needed to survival, does no longer people who have been incorrect immediately be chosen against or be shown so?''' the main we are in a position to do is gang up on one yet another. As you have got considered alot of right here :)
