there's the sign language that people do in the palm of another person's hand for mute and blind people, so maybe like that?

Is this joke right? Why does the mute man need to say anything about the mute man's wife leaving him?
How did they ever communicate about anything before?
I don't think I get this joke.
Could it be that the blind man's wife left him and he doesn't know so the mute man must somehow convey this information.
And since it is a joke then it should be something a little less than obvious. But that which we will all smack our heads and go ... Oh man now I get it.

Take him by the hand & physically show him things like traking his wedding ring off & letting him hold a necklace or something of hers whilst he lets the blind man feel his hand waving goodbye etc
OR
He signs or signals to another of their friends to tell the mute man by voice!

The deaf man just tell his blind best friend that his wife left him. It was the deaf's man wife who left, so telling his best friend the blind one is simple because the blind can hear.
