Her brother has three children and is dying of lukemia, but his sister refuses to donate her bone marrow. She is also a perfect match. I think she is a prime example of trash.

It does seem a bit selfish but I agree with this comment that was also on the fox web site.

"I am a transplantee myself and am very disturbed by this story. Donating organs or bonemarrow is and must be completely voluntary, and should also be private. I could easily appreciate people refusing to be tested for compatability after reading this. I hope this man realises the possible damage his actions may cause. I certainly wouldn't be tested for his sake knowing that I would be hung out in the press afterwards if I decided not to donate."

It sucks that he has such a small chance of finding another match but it's survival of the fittest. Some people just aren't ment to be. It's sad that he would be leaving his wife and children and my sympothy goes out to his family.

Morally, it DOES appear "pretty cruddy" on the face, at first sight...

But it is a very complex question on psychology, survival, and environment, where several factors and other "imponderables" could be involved, and we may NOT have practical first-hand access/knowledge of it, all.

"Helen Pretty (the sister concerned) declined to comment for the story" - "fox news," less the phrase in the bracket, which has been added by this participant, of this forum.

Yeah she does seem to be trash, however we do not know the full story. SHe must have her reasons. Maybe he did something really horrible to her and refused to apologize or make up for it. Maybe he is a child abuser. We just dont know the whole story.

What a horrible person!!! I don't care how bad of a relationship I had with my brother I would not let him die. Hell some one would have to kill me, if I did not do what I could to save my little brother's life.
