Here's a better way to look at it, regardless of the club (except putter).

Set the club so that the sole is flushed to the ground,

1. the butt-end of the handle should point towards your belt buckle.

2. There should be about a fist-size gap between the butt-end and your belt buckle.

Unless you are really tall or short, standard clubs for your gender will fit you.

There is no definite equation in referance to body height...... If you go and have clubs fitted for you one of the measurements that they will take is from the wrist to the ground. This will help them determine shaft length and the lie angle of the clubs ie. taller usually a more upright lie angle. hope this helps

Agree with the prior post. Your club length is a product of your overall height, whether you height is in your legs or trunk, length of your arms and distance of your wrist to the ground.

Go to a club fitter who will tell you what you need.
