I saw on ESPN Friday Night Fights last night that Pavlik is going to mix it up with Miranda on the undercard of the Taylor vs. Spinks scrap in Memphis on 5/19. Pavlik is really taking a big step up in competition in my opinion. Does Pavlik have a good shot of icing or beating Miranda by decision?

Well Kelly Pavlic is the current hometown hero around these parts and people around here still talk about Boom Boom Mancicni like he is still fighting so I am biased and must root for Kelly Pavlic but I just don't know if he can pull it off. He is very lanky and awkward at times. He has been down on the canvass and has still gotten up to knock the opponent out. Mianda, as Brent said, has been knocked down in his last fight, but I think it was just a flash knock down where he was surprised by a punch but not hurt in the least. Miranda has the punching power to win and in one fight broke the jaw of undefeated Abrams. Frustrated in this fight Miranda resorted to poor tactics like intentional head butting but in the end lost--his only loss as of yet. (*he was deducted points too*)

With this in mind I think Pavlic may be in danger. Miranda is more seasoned and unpredictable and may be a slight favorite. If Pavlic outboxes Miranda he may get rabbit punched and head butted. It will be a tough fight and perhaps a costly one to win if he sustains serious cuts from butts that may affect when he can fight for the championship against Jermaine Taylor. If it goes to a decision it will be a split decision or draw but I'll be hoping for a late 11 round KO by Kelly Pavlic.

I thought Taylor was fighting Sergio Mora from the contender I wonder why that changed. he best watch out for the "Spinks Jinxs"! (Leon over Ali, Michael over Holmes, Cory over Mayorga= all didn't seem to have a chance)

Check out the fight card!!. Looks like Carlos Baldomir is taking on Vernon Forrest also. Great night for boxing. Honestly I feel that Edison Miranda is to much for Kelly Pavlik. Yea Pavlik has a great knockout percentage but Miranda is the harder puncher. Once thing we know...someone is going down that night. Also personally i don't get the Spinks -vs-Taylor fight and feel this is nothing more the a "look good fight for Taylor"

Thats going to be the fight of the night. One thing is sure, and that is after the fight, Pavlik will have answered any questions his critics may have had about him. I think they match up well and if I was handicapping it, it would be about even. It is a feather in Miranda's cap to take the fight, Pavlik is considered rising stock in some circles. I think he has a good shot of beating Miranda.

Brent this should be a great fight and matches two fighters with great records and power. Miranda has fought the better competition and I agree this is a step up for Pavlick. Pavlick has a 90 percent KO rate in his bouts. That is impressive. If you have that type of power you have a chance any time of winning. Green surprised Miranda in their fight with a knock down, I know it surprised me. This fight is going to be close both of these guys seem to have a good chin.
