Well, despite what The Internet says, coke doesn't make any part of your body dissolve (the acid in orange juice- and in your stomach- is way stronger). Soda also isn't linked to health conditions like kidney stones- at least not directly. There are a few problems that can be caused by frequent soda intake- - The sugar and acid is bad for your teeth, all you have to do is use a straw to minimize the contact with your tooth surface to fix that. - The sugar and caffeine isn't great for your metabolism, the caffeine speeds up your internal processes and the sugar can cause you to crash. You can minimize this by making sure you eat plenty of food that will give you a longer burn so the sugar crash won't be as bad. -Caffeine is an appetite suppressant, which means that your much less likely to eat something that will give you energy, which is just setting you up for a sugar crash. Since drinking a sugary, caffeinated drink does give you some actual fuel, and makes you not hungry anymore, your body will start to associate hunger with drinking soda. It's important, therefore, before you drink a sugary soda to think about the last time you ate and if it was more than a couple hours ago try having a snack and a glass of water or juice instead. - Caffeine is a diuretic- it 'pulls' water from your body. This causes intestinal cramps and irritation of the kidneys, if it's chronic it can lead to secondary infections and conditions like kidney stones. The soda itself is not the cause of this, but rather dehydration- so to avoid it all you have to do is make sure you are drinking plenty of water on top of the soda. Alternating the same volume of soda and water, or other liquid, will certainly be enough to counteract it. -Caffeine is also addictive, which means that cutting intake sharply causes withdrawal, most commonly headache and general bad temper. -Carbonated drinks contain a lot of gas that has to get out somehow. Drinking slowly or encouraging bubbles to work their way out in your stomach can help prevent painful gas.

yes, I've read the article online about the effect of drinking cola. It said that women have a better chance of bone density damage from drinking cola. My friends also told me that if you put the metal in the cola it'll eat the metal so imagine what it'll do to your bones. Yikessssss, I'm addict to cola and trying to stop drinking it too.

Not only does it put a lot of weight on you, it can also ruin your teeth. Take it from me, I speak from experience. The acidity in soda can strip the enamel from your teeth and it causes them to slowly rot out. I've had to have a lot of extensive dental work because of drinking a lot of pop in my teens. I don't recommend drinking it very much.
