As religion is one of the main causes of suffering in the world due to wars and other conflicts...?

Maybe all of the religions' Gods should tell people to stop worshipping their respective religions so much and just all get along, thus saving innocent peoples' lives who are caught in the crossfire? Wouldn't that be a Godly thing to do if they all love us so much?

It is not the Bible or God's word that causes men to go to war, the bible has been used as a n excuse for men to cause war. They think it is ok to kill someone who doesn' believe as they do and God's word say not to kill. So it is man and yes most religions do serve the people and stop people from getting along.

If there were no religion, there would have been no crusades, no Spanish Inquisition, no fighting between India and Pakistan, no fighting in Northern Ireland, no fighting over Israel, no genocide in Yugoslavia, no 9/11, no wars in Afganistan or Iraq. There would be no "honor killings", there would be no conflict with Iran, and there would be no civil war in Somalia right now. Women could be treated as equal with men throughout the world, homosexuals could be treated with the same respect as heterosexuals, and there could be greater funding for stem cell research to potentially save millions of lives.

People can say all they want that it's people's faults and not religion, but the bottom line is that these things would not occur if there were no religion. Period.

Granted, conflicts would still occur due to people's greed, but the world as a whole would be a much better place to live. If there were no religion right now, pretty much all of the top international news headlines about wars and conflicts would not exist. People throughout the world could all focus together as a whole on issues like global warming, finding alternate energy sources, curing diseases, and eliminated poverty and starvation.

Cmon, you are smarter than that I hope. Religions don't cause the problem. Its what people do with religion that causes all the trouble. The messages of the Messengers are about living the life, the rule of law, justice, harmony, charity and so on. Don't let your prejudice lead you around by the nose, boy. It's true that religion is and has been used for millenia to take people to the lowest possible behavior. Clergy and rulers love to do evil. They take the message and turn it into something they can use to further their own ambitions. Want to change that? You will have to do some real good work to come to understand it. Get off your couch and get to work!! Better move fast!

To not follow the true word of God is a sin which is the cause of the suffering in this world. To create other religions that goes against the true word of God is a sin created by satan. And there are countless people who are falling for satan's lies. Sin and satan are the cause of suffering in this world. If you want to escape the suffering or at least not have to go through it alone, invite Jesus into your heart and life, and repent of your sinful lifestyle and walk away from it today!

The crusades happened because of the pope's greed for power. Proof is that the last group of crusaders (and the largest), instead of attacking Muslims, decided to sack The Capital of The Holy Roman Empire, Constantinople. Another example is the fact that when they did take Jerusalem in an earlier crusade, they killed everyone there, even Christians and Jews.

The Inquisition was an excuse for the Pope to kill, capture, and discredit all who opposed him. An example of this type of thing, from before the inquisition, is when the English burnt Joan of Arc by calling her a witch. There is proof that this happened, not because of disbeliefs in religion, but only because the English wanted to get rid of the leader of the French.

You're generalizing. Jehovah's Witnesses do not get involved in war for any reason. If everyone followed these beliefs, there would be no war.

The same cannot be said of most other religions. Catholics killed Catholics, and Protestants killed Protestants in both world wars because their leaders took sides in what was a war between nations. Catholics killed Catholics in Rawanda because they belonged to different tribes.

I couldn't agree with you more. What has happened is that the political leaders in all the countries use religon and religion leaders to forment war and they are so preocupied with getting rich that they don't care how many die just send us money.
Religion is the most corrupt institution in this world.
and the religious leaders the most guilty of the sins.

The why would've we been created if everyone was perfect and got along we are there to help others and to witnesss to them the love of God so everyone can get along but it won't happen by myself I have to tell others and so on and so on. There is one God and the devil. Even if you told everyone to stop worshiping, the devil is going to influence people to sin. Sin includes murder, rape, violence etc., do you think the world would be better off with the religions gone? You would still have the devil.
