Which cat breed is best woith a puppy?

I already have a puppy that is 9 months old. he is a cross between a westie and a yorkie. We now want to get a cat. is it best to get a kitten and which breed will get along well with a puppy?

I have a maine coon cat and he thinks he is one of the dogs. They even sleep together in the dog bed... too cute~ great cats!

get a kitten, i dontr think it would really matter what breed, b/c if you let the cat & dog grow up together then they will be used to each other & not chase each other around,etc.
