As Tigerose said, it's very expensive. For a nice system you can expect to pay tens of thousands. If you have the money, it's definitely worth it though.

Not only does it save you money on energy, but you can also connect to the grid and sell your power. So whenever you're not using your own energy, you're actually making money!

At my job we use solar panels 1 1/2" x 2 1/4" any they cost $30 a panel.You'll need lots of batteries and Transformers to convert appliances from AC to DC. If you have the money to do it, it's way worth it in the end but to get it started you are looking at BIG BUCKS.Good Luck
