some people explain it as spirit ,soul, mental body....ect
question is why we cannot see it.?

We do not see the air we breathe, yet it is there. We do not see our brains, yet we have one. Seeing is not believing. The soul is not physical because it is spiritual, we do not see faith, we feel it, hope we feel also. God gives us these gifts and if we trust him we need not see them. The spirit is not of this world, it has no boundries. Some do have the ability to see the soul/spirit of others. They have this gift that God gives them. However very few have it. I am one that does have it, but only when God see's that I need it to help others move on from their loss.

I have not thought much on the subject, but I think that that "thing" doesn't leave your body until the Day of Judgment.
