First of all, find another doctor. Next, get to an allergist and have the allergy testing done. It sounds as if you got a severe case of Hives by the description of your tongue and throat swelling and yes, they are cause by an allergic reaction. It could be from the medications, foods eaten. And hives themself can throw you into a panic attack. I had severe hives and my tongue would get as big as a cow's. My eyes would swell up and my lips looked like balloons. There really wasn't much the doctors could do for me except prescibe steroids, which I refuse to take. After some quite extensive researching on my part I felt that my hives were caused by years of environmental toxins built up in my system and my body was just reacting to all of this. I went to www.dr.natura.com and ordered their colonix and detox. My thought was "what did I have to lose!". I did this program for 1 month and it is now about 8 months later and I have not had one single case of hives.

Do a websearch on "signs and symptoms of uticaria" (hives) and read up on them. I would bet 100% this is what you have. Also, remember what you last ate that caused these symptoms. I know I cannot eat Hunt's Spaghetti sauce. If I do my mouth will swell up in no time. Sometimes it can be something you have eaten all your life and then one day you just have this reaction to it. You have to think about everthing you are exposed to daily, environmental toxins, pollution, food additives, medications, perfumes, scents added to your laundry detergents, soaps, shampoos, and lotions, etc. We think this is all safe and one day, bam!, your body is overloaded and reacts in the only way it knows how to. Your body is trying to tell you something - listen to it!

Good Luck!

Could you describe your own symptoms in a few sentences? In your own words I mean. You have an "unreal feeling," like life is a movie and you're watching yourself act? Or like you have no Freudian Ego so you don't have a mental self concept? That could be any kind of panic disorder as stated. Are you type A personality? Like you're always on the go, and you'd usually get irritated at other people when they "slow you down" or something like that.

It certainly sounds like an allergy to me. I was going to say STOP TAKING THE MEDICATIONS, But you say you have.

Google "Swollen Burning Tongue" and search for the situation that matches your problem. Research on your own, it will put you in power of the problem and maybe you will find a solution.

Have you tried Hydrogen Peroxide as a mouth wash? It is enormously healing as a mouth wash for any type of oral sensitivity or gum problems. I have used it for 40 years thanks to a Dentist that recommended it.

As years go by you will discover that DOCTORS DO NOT KNOW EVERYTHING. We just think they do.

Good Luck

I would see another doctor & get a second opinion. It doesn't sound like he's to concerned about finding out what your allergic to.
Hope your feeling better
